Started as a music library collection development project at the University of California, Irvine in 2015, the Recent Music Performance Database has evolved into its current iteration of an open access depository focused on the performance of contemporary art music. This information corpus will hopefully allow music librarians, musicologists, arts directors, and other musicians answer questions like:
“Are there any composers or pieces frequently performed in this area?”
“Which composers are being performed most frequently?”
“What pieces for [instrumentation] have been performed recently?”
The initial core data is from festivals and ongoing concert series located in California from 2005-2015, but with your help it will regularly add more information from many other locations and other concerts. For more information visit the Contribute page.
